NEWS: Writer-in-Residence at booktrust
SOME VERY COOL NEWS! I’ve been appointed Writer-in-Residence at BookTrust, the UK’s largest children’s reading charity, following in the footsteps of superstar Michelle Robinson, SF Said, Cressida Cowell, Michael Rosen and many other incredible book makers. I’ll be in the role from March-August 2024 with a focus on using factual books to fascinate young readers.
Exciting times…
I was stunned by the response to this announcement and all the incredible support from the children’s book world, teachers, librarians, and booksellers! Writers and illustrators I love and admire said the most wonderful things. We made The Bookseller too! Like I said: just publishing fulfilling my dreams faster than I can dream them. Being Writer-in-Residence at BookTrust is a huge honour and I’m so thrilled to be working with this fantastic charity to raise the profile of factual books for children. Today, the choice we have is astonishing - incredible art and writing and fresh angles on fascinating themes in all kinds of formats with something for every reader. I can’t wait to share my favourites and tips to encourage children (and grown-ups) to discover fantastic facts together!
